Xiaomi 14 rumour roundup: What to expect from the brand’s next flagship

Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 14 series is set to be a landmark for the brand. Not only will the phones be the most powerful pieces of hardware ever produced by the brand, but they will also spearhead a new approach to software with Xiaomi’s new HyperOS skin replacing its signature MIUI.

The new Xiaomi 14 series phones are expected to launch next month in November, and ahead of the brand making the new devices official, numerous leaks have painted us a somewhat detailed picture of what to expect. Here’s a quick look at what to expect from the Xiaomi 14 series if you’re saving up to buy a new phone.

Xiaomi 14 Series: What to expect?

The full specifications of the new Xiaomi 14 were leaked online by Anvin (@Zionsanvin) on X (previously Twitter), along with an image of what looks like a specifications’ poster.

The specs include a 6.44-inch Huaxing C8 OLED display panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 2,800 nits max brightness. The 12-bit display panel is also reportedly certified to support Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

The phone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and as per the leaks, could be paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, which offers much faster read and write speeds than UFS 3.1 storage units. The phone is also expected to pack a 4,600mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Coming to the cameras, the Xiaomi 14 is expected to pack a 50MP OV50H main camera with OIS, along with another 50MP ultrawide camera, and a third 50MP telephoto lens. The camera setup is expected to collaborate with German camera-maker Leica, although it isn’t clear if Leica will contribute to the actual lenses or simply tune the software processing for the cameras.

Other expected features include a new larger Vapour Cooling system to cool the phones, stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and an IP68 certification.

Note that all of these specifications are based on leaks, and that none of this information is provided by or verified by Xiaomi itself. We suggest you take these specifications with a grain of salt, as the final specifications will only be revealed when Xiaomi makes the device official. Fortunately, with the launch merely a few weeks away, there’s not a long time to wait.
