These Xiaomi smart audio glasses bring hands-free listening to everyday eyewear

Xiaomi recently held a global launch event for the Redmi Note 15 series. At the event, the company also unveiled other products, including the Redmi Buds 8 Lite TWS earbuds and the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses. As the name suggests, these are audio-focused smart glasses designed for everyday use. Here’s a closer look at what they offer.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses: Specs and features

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses combine the appearance of regular eyewear with open-ear audio technology, allowing users to listen to music and take calls without blocking surrounding sounds. The smart glasses feature built-in speakers and four microphones integrated into the frame, positioning them as a discreet alternative to wireless earbuds.

The audio system uses air-conduction speakers with wind-noise reduction and a dedicated privacy mode designed to limit sound leakage in public spaces. Touch-sensitive temples enable playback control, call management, voice assistant access, and quick recording for calls or meetings, with LED indicators signalling active recording.

Battery life is another highlight, with dual 114mAh batteries delivering up to 13 hours of music playback and extended standby time. The glasses support fast charging, Bluetooth connectivity with dual-device pairing, and IP54 protection.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses: Price and availability

The Mijia Smart Audio Glasses have arrived in Europe in three style options, such as Brownline and Pilot-Style priced at 179 euros (~Rs 18,850) and Titanium priced at 199 euros (~Rs 20,950). There’s no clarity whether the device will ever make it to the Indian market.

Redmi Buds 8 Lite: Key specs and price

Priced at 23 euros (~Rs 2,420), the Redmi Buds 8 Lite feature 12.4mm titanium-diaphragm drivers and support dual-device connectivity, a custom EQ mode, up to 42dB active noise cancellation, and up to 36 hours of total battery life with the charging case.
