According to a recent report, Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil a new Xiaomi 17 series smartphone. A fresh leak has now revealed that it will be called the Xiaomi 17 Max when it hits the market. The same source has also shared key details about this upcoming phone.
Xiaomi 17 Max specifications (rumoured)
To recall, the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, which were announced in September 2025, came equipped with a secondary rear-facing display. As per the new leak, the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max will lack a secondary screen, which could allow it to be positioned below the existing Pro models.
Recent reports have revealed only a few details about the Xiaomi 17 Max. These include a 6.8-inch or 6.9-inch OLED display and the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. For photography, its camera system is said to include a periscope telephoto sensor.
Rumours suggest that the Xiaomi 17 Max’s other specifications may remain identical to the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Therefore, it is likely to pack a 7,500mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
Its camera setup may include a 50MP front camera and a 50MP (main) + 50MP (ultra-wide) + 50MP (3x periscope telephoto) rear camera system. The phone is expected to run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
Xiaomi 17 Max launch timeframe (rumoured)
The leak also reveals that the Xiaomi 17 Max will be announced in April 2026. During the March–April period, other flagship smartphones, such as the Vivo X300s and Oppo Find X9s, are also expected to launch in the Chinese market.
At present, there is no clarity on whether the Xiaomi 17 Max will be released in India. However, reports suggest that the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra may go official in the country in March.
