2. Translate text instantly

If you come across a signboard or poster in a language you don’t understand, point your smartphone camera at the text, and Lens will translate it into your preferred language.

3. Identify skin conditions

By finding similar images online, Google Lens lets you see more details about the kind of skin ailment you are scanning with your camera.

4. Identify plants and animals

You are going to go gaga over this if you are a nature or animal lover. You can snap a photo of a flower, bird, or snack, and Google Lens will provide detailed information about it.

5. Scan and copy text

This function of Google Lens is a lifesaver when you extract editable text from images or handwritten notes. It copies the scanned text to your clipboard, saving a lot of time and effort that would otherwise be required to digitise information.

6. Add events to your calendar

If you see a poster for an event you’re interested in attending, you can add it to your calendar without typing, thanks to Google Lens. You can also scan business cards and create a contact on your phone by scanning business cards. Handy, isn’t it?

7. Get help with homework

While most of us are way past the homework age, we often encounter maths problems we would rather not solve. In such cases, you can use the ‘Homework Help’ filter on Google Lens to get instructions on solving the equations. Oh, this feature also works for questions from science, history, and other subjects.

8. Get product information

The identification skills are not limited to just plants and animals. You can point the Google Lens camera at any product you like and instantly get deals, reviews, and shopping websites for the same.

9. Learn more about historical landmarks and works of art

With Google Lens, you can get an exhibit’s history, significance, and other facts. All you need to do is point your camera at an installation or art piece, and you get a free art/museum guide.

10. Judge a book by its cover

Just like everything else it can scan, Lens can also give you information about a book by scanning its cover. Apart from the usual title and author name, it will also give you a summary of the book and links to where you can buy it from.

If you think Lens by itself is a magician, what if we tell you that you can use it with other Google tools – you can do a Google Lens search on images via Chrome and use it with Google Bard to include pictures in your prompts.
