OnePlus and Oppo have started rolling out Android 17 beta 2 to the OnePlus 15 and Oppo Find X9 Pro, giving early access to users. The update is still in testing, and both brands have shared detailed guidance along with multiple cautions for users planning to install it. These are among the first non-Pixel phones to receive Android 17 beta.
Android 17 beta 2 for OnePlus 15
The Android 17 beta 2 build for the OnePlus 15 is aimed primarily at developers and advanced users. It allows early testing of apps on the upcoming Android version, but it is not meant for daily usage. The update process will erase all data on the device, making backups essential before proceeding.
Users should also be aware of several known issues, including screen flickering, app crashes, and limited compatibility with third-party applications. Features such as casting may not function properly, and camera-related glitches can occur in certain situations. There is also a risk involved during installation, as improper flashing could lead to the device becoming unusable.
The update is restricted to specific software versions and regions, with separate installation methods for India, Europe, and North America. Users outside supported configurations may need to upgrade or downgrade their current software before proceeding.
Android 17 Beta 2 for Oppo Find X9 Pro
The same beta version has also been released for the Oppo Find X9 Pro, with similar limitations. Oppo has clarified that this build is strictly for users familiar with flashing ROMs, as the process carries a real risk if not handled correctly.
Once installed, the device may experience UI inconsistencies, system instability, and app compatibility issues. Certain features, including interconnection and touch interactions, may not work reliably in all scenarios. As with the OnePlus build, installing the beta will completely wipe the device.
The update is currently limited to the Find X9 Pro and requires the device to be on specific software versions before installation.

OnePlus and Oppo have also provided a rollback path to Android 16, though it involves multiple steps and also wipes data. Overall, Android 17 Beta 2 offers an early glimpse of upcoming changes, but it remains best suited for testing rather than everyday use.
