Google has released the Android 17 Beta 1 update, but it is currently limited to Pixel devices as part of the early testing phase. As the development cycle progresses, attention is now shifting toward which non-Pixel smartphones will receive the next major Android upgrade. Xiaomi and Redmi users, in particular, are eager to know whether their devices will be eligible for the update. Here is the list of Xiaomi and Redmi devices confirmed to receive Android 17.

Here is a list of Xiaomi and Redmi devices that are officially confirmed to receive Android 17, as per Xiaomi’s Android Enterprise Recommended (AER) page. Readers should note that this list pertains to phones available in the global market, including India. Therefore, it does not include phones like the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, which are available in the Chinese market.

The above list does not include the Redmi Note 14 5G. However, this is not unexpected, as the company had already confirmed on the device’s official page that it will not receive the Android 17 upgrade.

Android 17 for Xiaomi, Redmi devices: Release timeframe

Xiaomi is known for rolling out its first beta update during the Google I/O event. Most likely, the Xiaomi 17 series could be the first to receive it. The stable build may arrive by late third quarter or fourth quarter.

Android 17: Expected features

Android 17 is expected to focus on performance improvements, better privacy controls, and enhanced support for large-screen devices such as foldables and tablets. The update introduces refinements to background task management and power efficiency to improve overall system smoothness.

New camera and media APIs aim to simplify advanced photography and video workflows, while support for the Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard has also been added. Android 17 brings subtle UI changes, including more compact settings menus and smoother animations. Additionally, stricter app adaptation rules for larger displays are expected to improve multitasking and layout consistency across different screen sizes.
