Xiaomi Tag has officially debuted in select European markets as an affordable Bluetooth item tracker designed to compete with Apple’s AirTag 2, which debuted recently. Key highlights include dual ecosystem support, Bluetooth 5.4, IP67 protection, and a lightweight design. Read on for full specifications, features, pricing, and availability details.
Xiaomi Tag: Specs and features
The Xiaomi Tag is a compact item tracker measuring around 7.2mm in thickness and weighing approximately 8 grams, making it easy to attach to keys, bags, or personal belongings. The tracker features a minimal white design and carries an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, allowing it to handle everyday exposure to splashes and dust.
Unlike premium trackers, this version does not include Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, which means tracking relies primarily on Bluetooth proximity rather than precise directional positioning. Powered by Bluetooth 5.4, the tracker pairs with smartphones and integrates with both Apple’s Find My network and Google’s Find Hub, enabling cross-platform tracking through crowd-sourced device detection.
When out of range, nearby compatible devices anonymously update the tracker’s location through the cloud network. NFC support is also included for additional pairing or interaction features depending on platform compatibility.
The Xiaomi Tag runs on a replaceable CR2032 coin-cell battery that is rated to last up to one year on a single charge cycle. A built-in beeper allows users to trigger sound alerts when searching for misplaced items nearby.
Xiaomi Tag: Price and availability
The Xiaomi Tag has launched in parts of Europe, including France, with a retail price of €17.99 for a single unit. Early listings from some retailers show pricing dropping below €15 (~Rs 1,615), while a four-pack bundle is expected to retail at €59.99 (~Rs 6,460). The tracker is available in a white colour option, and wider regional availability may expand in the coming weeks. As far as India launch is concerned, there is no clarity whether it will ever make it to the Indian market.
