Redefining immersive aerial capture

This is the world’s first drone that can capture 8K 360-degree videos

Insta360’s Antigravity has officially launched the A1, which it calls the world’s first true 8K 360 drone. Designed as a new category of “360 drones”, the A1 pairs a sub-250-gram airframe with a dual-lens 8K camera system, a headset-first flying experience, and motion-based controls.

With Vision Goggles, a Grip controller, and intelligent flight tools working together, the A1 aims to change how aerial footage is captured, flown, and experienced. Here’s a look at all its specs, features, and pricing.

Antigravity A1 drone key specs and features

The Antigravity A1 weighs just 249 grams with the standard battery, keeping it compliant with sub-250-gram regulations in many regions. Its compact, palm-sized body features a retractable landing gear system that protects the lower lens during take-off while keeping the drone invisible in 360 footages. The design focuses on unobstructed capture rather than a traditional front-facing camera or gimbal.

At the core of the A1 is a dual-lens camera system built around two 1/1.28-inch sensors. It can record full 360-degree video at up to 8K at 30fps, 5.2K at 60fps, or 4K at 100fps. This setup allows users to capture the entire environment in a single flight and reframe shots later using Antigravity’s software. FlowState Stabilisation helps maintain smooth footage even in windy conditions.

The A1 offers up to 24 minutes of flight time with the included battery, while an optional high-capacity battery extends this to as much as 39 minutes. Instead of a traditional controller, the drone relies on Vision Goggles with dual 1-inch Micro-OLED displays and Pancake optics, paired with a motion-sensitive Grip controller.

To simplify complex shots, the Antigravity A1 is equipped with features like Sky Path automated routes, Sky Genie cinematic moves, Deep Track subject tracking, and Virtual Cockpit effects. User-replaceable propellers and lenses, along with a payload detection system, add practicality and safety.

Antigravity A1: Price and availability

The Antigravity A1 is priced at $1,599 (~Rs 1,45,000) for the Standard Bundle. The Explorer Bundle and the Infinity Bundle at $1,899 (~Rs 1,72,200) and $1,999 (~Rs 1,81,270), respectively, with each bundle including the drone, Vision Goggles, and Grip controller, plus varying accessories and batteries.
