Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup has landed, and there’s a new face at the table. The iPhone Air replaces the “Plus” and brings a sleeker pitch for those who want more than the standard but don’t need a Pro Max in their pocket. The family still has four phones including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the impossibly slim, iPhone Air.
All the models now come with ProMotion displays, Apple’s new A19 or A19 Pro chip, a refined aluminium unibody design for the Pros, and more advanced cameras. But there’s another decision Apple forces you to make every year; it’s storage. Because your choice here can be the difference between a phone that feels freeing or one that nags you with constant “Storage Full” pop-ups. So, which size is the right fit for you?
iPhone 17 storage variants: The starter pack
The iPhone 17 now starts at 256GB, up from the base 128GB starting variant last year. Here are the storage options:
256GB (Rs 82,900): Think of this as the sweet spot for most everyday users. If you stream music, rely on cloud storage, and maybe shoot a few Reels, you’ll be just fine with the base 256GB.
512GB (Rs 1,02,900): If you’re the kind who records family vacations in 4K, downloads Netflix shows for long flights, or just hates deleting photos, this is the one.
Colours: Black, White, Mist Blue, Sage, Lavender
iPhone Air storage variants: The slim marvel
The new sleek iPhone Air starts with a 256GB storage variant, going all the way up to 1TB. Here’s the lowdown:
256GB (Rs 1,19,900): Works for the semi-minimalist who shoots the occassional photos and videos, but doesn’t live on ProRAW quality pictures.

512GB (Rs 1,39,900): Great for creators on the go, students filming class projects, YouTubers starting out, or anyone juggling heavy apps.
1TB (Rs 1,59,900): Honestly, this is for people who treat their phone like an external hard drive. Think videographers shooting ProRes, or those with massive offline music and game libraries.
Colours: Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, Sky Blue
iPhone 17 Pro storage variants: The creator’s weapon
Like the iPhone Air, the iPhone 17 Pro also goes all the way up to 1TB. Here are the storage options:
256GB (Rs 1,34,900): Enough for users who want the Pro features and shoot 4K videos occassionally without going storage crazy.
512GB (Rs 1,54,900): The perfect mid-way if you’re into mobile gaming, 4K HDR recording, or dabbling with spatial video.
1TB (Rs 1,74,900): If your phone is your camera rig, this size means fewer compromises. You can shoot entire short films without worrying about space too much.
Colours: Silver, Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue
iPhone 17 Pro Max storage variants: For the power obsessed
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is the first iPhone to come with a massive 2TB variant. Here are all the options:
256GB (Rs 1,49,900): A good choice for those who want the largest screen and camera hardware but still lean on cloud storage.
512GB (Rs 1,69,900): The safer choice for most Pro Max buyers. It balances storage with price, and handles years of heavy photo/video use.
1TB (₹1,89,900): The sweet spot for serious creators and multitaskers with plenty of headroom for your storage needs.
2TB (Rs 2,29,900): This is a proper flex. The phone equivalent of owning a walk-in closet, but for your digital belongings. Useful if you’re editing full-length films on your iPhone, or have years of high-quality photos stored on your phone.
Colours: Silver, Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue
