Apple to launch the next iPhone on September 12

Apple has announced that its annual September launch event will take place on September 12 this year. For the uninitiated, that’s the new launch event where the Cupertino-based tech giant will unveil the new iPhone series of smartphones, likely to be called iPhone 15.

The announcement also comes with a unique name, just like the years before. Similar to last year’s ‘Far Out’ event, we have the ‘Wonderlust’ event this year. While it isn’t clear what the new event is going to be about, we can be sure of the brand justifying the title during the event itself, be it with some new features on the next iPhone, or new hardware entirely.

The event is set to take place at 10:00 AM Pacific Time, or 10:30 PM IST. While not yet confirmed, it is likely that Apple will make the event open to live stream for everyone to see on its social media handles including YouTube.

This includes USB Type-C connectivity for the first time on Apple’s smartphones, along with other changes like Dynamic Island replacing the notch across the entire series. The new iPhones are also expected to feature a more powerful A17 chip, and the Pro models are also expected to with a new periscope telephoto sensor for enabling optical zoom on shots of far-away subjects.

While these features and changes are currently mere speculations, we should see Apple confirming all the details during its event on September 12. The new iPhones should be available to pre-order and buy soon after.
