If you’re a gamer, it’s always a good idea to invest in a TV that’s designed with gaming in mind. Regular TVs are great for consuming content and even for playing the occasional game, but if you’re serious about gaming, you’re going to need a display that supports features like VRR (variable refresh rate), high refresh rates of 120Hz+, and most importantly, support for low latency modes like ALLM to ensure that you can be competitive when playing fast-paced games. Here are some of your best options at the moment.
1. TCL C755 55-inch mini LED gaming TV
The TCL C755 is one of the best TVs for gaming. Being a mini LED panel, brightness hits an eye-watering 1,600 nits peak in HDR mode. With a total of 1,344 dimming zones, your HDR experience should also be very good with little to no flaring in dark scenes. Gamers, of course, will be looking to take advantage of the TV’s excellent 144Hz VRR gaming mode.

The TV also supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for a tear-free gaming experience with either a game console or PC. You also get ALLM (auto low-latency mode), picture profiles for various games, the ability to capture screenshots, enhance shadows, a crosshair, and a lot more besides. Support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and DTS Virtual: X rounds out the features. It’s hard to believe that all of this can be had for just Rs 59,990.

2. LG OLED evo AI C4 4K Smart TV
OLED is the only option if you want the best possible image quality. Among the manufacturers who make OLED TVs, LG is easily at the top, and their C series lineup is about as good as an OLED can get for now. The evo AI C4 — available for Rs 1,04,990 on Croma — has a 120Hz native refresh rate that’s great for both content and gaming, but can enable a 144Hz VRR mode in its gaming mode.
Features like ALLM and G-Sync are supported. In addition, you get the stunning OLED image quality, LG’s excellent webOS 24 interface, a filmmaker mode, an Alpha 9 AI processor for image processing and upscaling, and more.
3. Sony Bravia 8 65-inch OLED TV
If price is no object, get the Sony Bravia 8 OLED TV. The 65-inch model retails at a steep Rs 2,92,941 and supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Game-focused features like ALLM, 120Hz refresh rate, and VRR are supported on all ports (HDMI 2.1). Gaming aside, the Bravia 8 is also an incredible TV in its own right. Image quality is stunning, as is the design, and the audio is fantastic. The TV is designed to use the display itself as a speaker to deliver larger-than-life sound quality of the type you’d never expect to hear from a TV. It’s expensive, but worth every Rupee.
