OpenAI has announced a new tool that is set to take on Google Translate. Called ChatGPT Translate, the tool is smarter at translation and comes with a unique feature that Google Translate lacks. Intrigued? Here’s everything you need to know about ChatGPT Translate.
ChatGPT Translate is smarter than Google Translate
ChatGPT Translate is a standalone web translation tool that supports over 50 languages and comes with a simple interface. While the tool does exactly what Google Translate does, it’s smarter as it allows users to direct the style of translated text.
What this means is you don’t receive a literal translation, but rather a translation in the style and way you want. ChatGPT Translate also lets you translate language from images, text, and voice. However, the support for image translation is yet to be made available.
It’s worth noting that the regular ChatGPT chatbot also supports translation, but with a standalone website, users can directly use the AI’s translation prowess. It’s unclear if we’ll get a dedicated translation app like Google Translate, but we should learn more soon.
