A couple of months ago, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) in multiple markets across the globe. Since it arrived as an updated edition of the original Galaxy Watch Ultra from last year, it did not offer any major hardware upgrades.
Now, a new report claims that the South Korean tech giant is working on the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, and its expected launch timeframe has also been tipped.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in the works
According to GalaxyClub.nl, the company is working on the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 alongside the Watch 9 series. To recall, the Galaxy Watch Ultra was based on the Watch 7. In the same way, the Ultra 2 is expected to be similar to the Watch 9 in terms of specifications.
The publication claims that while the device is internally known as the Watch 9 Ultra, it may eventually hit the market with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 moniker. At present, there is no concrete evidence about the Ultra 2’s internals, but early rumours suggest it may arrive with major changes, including a larger battery.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 launch timeframe (expected)
Samsung is known for announcing its new watches alongside its next-generation foldables. Early reports suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 are slated to go official in July 2026. Therefore, it is likely that the Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9 may break cover at the same event.
In related news, Samsung has recently launched the Galaxy Z TriFold globally. The pathbreaking device appears like a regular smartphone when folded but unfolds to offer a massive 10-inch display. While the company has confirmed all its specs, it is yet to announce its availability. Likely, it will be available for purchase in the first half of 2026.
