Garmin has launched a new smartwatch. But it’s no ordinary watch that just tracks your steps and other health metrics. Instead, the new Garmin Quatix 8 is a marine watch with features like 80km offshore connectivity, durable titanium bezel, and more. And for all these reasons, the new Garmin watch is more expensive than an iPhone 17 Pro. Intrigued? Read on.
What makes the Garmin Quatix 8 Pro special?
The Garmin Quatix 8 Pro is an oversized watch, featuring a 47mm titanium bezel. It has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass offering utmost durability. It’s advertised to withstand saltwater, spray, and extended periods of sea.
The smartwatch boasts a 1.4-inch high-brightness AMOLED display and has several buttons, including the SOS key. The smartwatch integrates inReach satellite technology alongside LTE cellular support, ensuring you stay connected everywhere you go.
Further, it also supports 80km offshore connectivity and has a dedicated 24-hour response center.
Garmin has also added a new Boat mode that adapts automatically based on where you are. For instance, when you are near water, marine tools like autopilot controls, trolling motor status, and vessel data pop up. When you are at the gym, these tools will be replaced by health metrics.
