Google has introduced the Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite. The latest AI model is a part of the Gemini 3.1 family and is designed for enterprise. The search giant says that Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite offers fast responses at scale while being cost-efficient. It comes after the company launched the Gemini 3.1 Pro for complex workflows last month.
Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite is designed for high-volume workloads
The Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite is positioned as the fastest and cheapest model. It costs $0.25 (roughly Rs 23) per 1 million input tokens and $1.50 (roughly Rs 138) per 1 million output tokens.
Google says that Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite is built for high-volume tasks like content moderation, translation, customer support automation, and real-time app features. According to the company’s benchmarks, the latest model outperform its predecessor i.e Gemini 2.5 Flash with a 2.5X faster time to first token and a 45 percent boost in overall output speed.
One key feature on the Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite is the adjustable thinking levels. It allows developers to adjust the model’s reasoning intensity and speed for different tasks. It can be dialed up to handle complex workloads that require in-depth reasoning.
The Gemini lineup now includes Ultra, Pro, Flash, and Flash Lite models. The latest 3.1 Flash Lite is available starting today in preview via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and for enterprise through Vertex AI.
