Highguard is the newest Battle Royale on the block, bringing fast-paced 3v3 action to the shooter scene. Its playable characters, called Wardens, come with unique styles, so no two matches feel the same. Every Warden has unique abilities that can tip the odds in your favor, open new paths through the map, or give your team breathing room during hectic moments.
Highguard’s Wardens fall into five roles you’ve probably seen in other team-based shooters: Assault, Defensive, Destructive, Recon, and Support, with each one focusing on different tasks, whether it’s charging the front lines, holding down a position, taking out enemy structures, scouting the map, or supporting teammates.
As you can already start to see, having the right mix of Wardens can make a big difference in how a match plays out, and choosing one that fits your style will make coordinating with your team much easier. So, with that in mind, here’s a look at all the Wardens in Highguard and what they can do.
Highguard characters: All Wardens and their abilities Explained
Highguard’s Wardens come in all sorts of playstyles, from aggressive front-line fighters to defensive anchors and team-focused supports. Each Warden has three abilities: a Tactical, a Passive, and an Ultimate. Knowing how they work together will help you get the most out of them. Here are all Highguard Wardens and their abilities explained:
Atticus
Atticus is an aggressive Assault Warden who uses lightning to control space and pressure enemies. His Tactical, Shockspear, throws a charged spear that shocks nearby enemies and charges his Passive, Supercharged Axe, which releases an electrical explosion when fully charged. His Ultimate, Powerstorm, lets him rise into the air and rain down lightning spears on enemies and structures.
Condor
Condor is a Recon Warden who helps track enemies and keeps her team aware of threats. Her Tactical, Eyes in the Sky, sends out a bird to reveal moving enemies, while her Passive, Hunter’s Instinct, warns her when foes are nearby. Her Ultimate, Soaring Guardian, deploys smoke clouds that reveal enemies caught in them.
Redmane
Redmane is a Destructive Warden who likes to smash walls and open new paths on the map. His Tactical, Pounce, smashes walls or launches a charged leap attack, and his Passive, Enraged, boosts movement and reload speed after kills. His Ultimate, Beast’s Roar, destroys walls and damages enemies in front of him.
Kai
Kai is a Defensive Warden who specializes in holding positions and controlling the battlefield with ice powers. Her Tactical, Ice Wall, creates a barrier that blocks damage and can be pushed forward, while her Passive, Frozen Repair, uses ice to fix destroyed walls. Her Ultimate, Frost Giant, transforms her into a massive ice demon with high health, strong melee attacks, and a shield that can absorb plenty of damage.
Scarlet
Scarlet is a stealthy Assault Warden who uses stealth to sneak around and take out enemies fast. Her Tactical, Sandstorm, grants temporary stealth, and her Passive, Shifting Sands, turns destructible walls into passable doorways. Her Ultimate, Whirling Blades, throws deadly daggers that reset cooldowns on kills.
Mara
Mara is a Support Warden who keeps her team alive with shields and respawn abilities. Her Tactical, Soul Armor, gives allies an overshield, her Passive, Sacrifice, charges her Tactical by purging downed enemies, and her Ultimate, Immortal Core, creates a temporary spawn point for teammates.
Una
Una is a Defensive Warden who summons spirits to disrupt enemies and provide utility for her team. Her Tactical, Forest Wisps, sends spirits that act like concussion grenades, while her Passive, Helping Hand, occasionally drops loot. Her Ultimate, Tree Walker, brings out a large forest spirit that hurls explosive attacks.
Slade
Slade is an Assault Warden who uses fire to control areas and flush out enemies. His Tactical, Heatwave, sends a wave of molten fire, his Passive, Firebomb, spreads magma across an area, and his Ultimate, Firestorm, rains fire down on a targeted zone.
Ekon
Lastly, Ekon is an Assault Warden who can shapeshift and track enemies, making him a relentless hunter on the battlefield. His Tactical, Wolf Spirit, sends out a wolf spirit to hunt enemies, his Passive, Dread, reveals the heartbeat of wounded enemies, and his Ultimate, Fearsome Howl, spreads Dread across the map while boosting his movement speed.
