HMD has introduced the Terra M, an ultra-rugged smart feature phone created for frontline teams and enterprise environments. It arrives through HMD Secure channels and highlights a sturdy MIL-STD-810H build, a glove-friendly 2.8-inch touchscreen, push-to-talk support, and long standby time. HMD Terra M: Specifications and features
The HMD Terra M is engineered to handle demanding conditions with MIL-STD-810H durability, IP68+, and IP69K ratings, protecting it against water, dust and drops of up to 1.8 metres. It features a compact form factor with a 2.8-inch touchscreen designed to work accurately even when gloves are worn. The phone also includes a high-output loudspeaker and programmable keys for quick communication in loud or busy environments.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Dragonwing QCM2290 chipset paired with 6GB RAM for secure enterprise applications. It comes with 128GB storage and supports further expansion. The 2,510mAh battery is rated to last up to 10 days on standby, supporting shift-based operations where prolonged power is required.
The Terra M runs a custom enterprise-ready operating system designed for security-focused deployments. It will receive five years of quarterly security patches. The rear camera captures images at 5MP and the front camera is 2MP for essential documentation use.
Connectivity features include 4G, VoLTE, VoWi-Fi, dual SIM, eSIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, hotspot mode and support for Mobile Device Management platforms. Pre-loaded enterprise apps such as Zello, SOTI MobiControl, OsmAnd and others will be available depending on customer requirements.
HMD Terra M: Price and availability
The HMD Terra M will be available in Q1 2026 through HMD Secure and select partner channels. Pricing and variants will be announced closer to launch. Organisations can choose between rugged accessories including a belt clip holster and a stackable charging cradle capable of powering up to ten units at once.
