At its MWC 2026 event, Honor announced multiple devices, including the Honor Magic V6 and the MagicPad 4 tablet. However, it also unveiled a unique concept called the Honor Robot Phone. The company claims it has effectively placed a robot inside a smartphone to enable physical, expressive interaction beyond traditional touch and voice controls. Here is everything known so far.
Honor Robot Phone: What makes it different
The standout feature of the Robot Phone is its 200MP camera integrated with an industry-first three-axis mechanical gimbal. The system is supported by a compact four-degrees-of-freedom structure made possible by a custom micro motor that is said to be 70 percent smaller than conventional solutions.
This level of miniaturisation allows robot-grade motion control to sit inside a standard smartphone body built using 2800MPa high-strength materials engineered with high precision. The gimbal enables advanced stabilisation for smoother footage in dynamic shooting conditions.
AI object tracking allows the camera to lock onto subjects and follow them in real time. AI SpinShot supports controlled 90-degree and 180-degree rotations for cinematic transitions. The device also includes agentic shooting tools and a built-in AI video editor. Honor has partnered with ARRI to bring professional cinema expertise to its mobile imaging pipeline.
Beyond photography and video, the embodied AI system introduces expressive movements. The camera module can physically adjust during video calls to maintain framing, nod in response to prompts, or even move rhythmically with music, adding a sense of personality to the device.
Honor Robot Phone availability
Honor has confirmed that the Robot Phone will initially be limited to China and is expected to launch in the second half of the year. The showcased unit remains a concept model, and final specifications and software refinements will likely be detailed closer to its commercial release. At present, there is no information about the Robot Phone’s price.
