We all go through the days when we feel like taking a break from social media. Whether you are seeking a temporary break or trying for a permanent one, Facebook gives you the option to deactivate the account from your smartphone and other devices.

 

What does it mean to deactivate your Facebook acount?

Deactivating a Facebook account is temporary; you can simply reactivate it by logging in. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

1. No one can see your profile or your timeline.

2. Your Facebook friends might still see your name in their friend list.

3. Some information might still be visible to your friends (e.g. messages sent to them). 

Deactivate Facebook account With Accounts Centre

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook account and tap on the three lines or your profile picture. 

Step 2: Go to Settings and Privacy option and then click Settings. 

Step 3: On the left side, you will see an Accounts Centre option. 

Step 4: Go to the Accounts Centre option and click on Personal details under Account settings.

Step 5: Go to Account Ownership and Control under Personal details and click Deactivation or Deletion. 

Step 6: Since you don’t want to delete the account, choose Deactivation. 

Step 7: Choose the profile you want to deactivate and select Deactivate account. 

Step 8: Click Continue and follow the instructions on the screen to confirm.

Deactivate account With Facebook Information

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook account and tap on the three lines or your profile picture. 

Step 2: Go to Settings and Privacy and click on Settings. 

Step 3: Click Your Facebook information from the left column, which will give you an option of Deactivation or Deletion. 

Step 4: Click on Deactivation and choose the account you want to deactivate. 

Step 5: Continue to Account Deactivation and follow the instructions to confirm.

Deactivating your Facebook account is quite simple. You can do it whenever you want and get back to it again whenever you wish. And in case you want to make it more permanent, you can delete Facebook account.
