How to keep your TWS earbuds from falling off

A simple change that can save you from grave losses

How to keep your TWS earbuds from falling off

Earphones have made lives easier from helping us answer calls hands-free to making the daily commute to work a little more bearable. And while they have successfully eliminated the struggles of wired earphones, there’s still that one common persisting issue plaguing TWS earbuds users globally – they keep falling off!

For a device that’s this essential, losing your earbuds has to hurt. And if you’ve just purchased a new pair, you already know there’s no easy way to replace just one. Also, let’s face it, it’s hardly ideal to stay still and not move your head just to keep your earbuds from falling. But luckily for you, we’ve gotten to the bottom of it. Here’s how to tackle this situation:

Why do your earbuds keep falling?

There are quite a few reasons why your earbuds might keep falling off. Check out some of them:

1. Ear sizes/shapes: Unlike TWS earbuds, ear shapes and sizes differ from person to person. Just because a pair of earbuds fits most people perfectly, doesn’t mean it might be the right fit for you too.

The best way to combat this problem is through trial and error. However, if you have a brand fit you prefer, it is best to stick to it instead of experimenting, in case you’re unsure.

2. Earwax or sweat: The build-up of earwax, natural oils, and sweat isn’t just gross, it might also negatively impact the audio quality of your TWS earbuds over time. Additionally, these affect the grip of your earbud tips, causing them to slip out. Maintaining hygiene will not only preserve your earbuds for longer periods but also ensure they fit snugly in your ear.

3. Using the wrong tips: There’s a good chance you might be using the wrong-sized silicone tips with your earbuds. Generally, three alternative sizes are offered when you buy a new pair of TWS earbuds – small, medium and large. Try all of them before settling on one.

Unfortunately, it’s also possible that none of these fit you correctly. In that case, you should consider getting yourself different types and sizes of earbud tips, made with other materials.

How to change the tips on your TWS earbuds

Here are a few quick steps you can follow to successfully replace the silicone tips on your TWS earbuds:

Step 1: Pick out your preferred size and type of earbuds tips

Step 2: Gently pull off the existing tips from your earbuds

Step 3: Wipe the earbuds and the tips to clean them before you attach the new pair of tips

Step 4: Align the tips with the nozzles of your earbuds and push them on.

And it’s done. Easy!

Note: You can keep the pair of earbud tips that you took off aside, and save them for later use.

Try these steps to have a pair of well-fitting TWS earbuds to save yourself from the heartache of losing yet another pair. And, of course, to save your pockets from an unforeseen expense!
