iOS 26.4 beta 1 is out for developers. It comes with new features and improvements including Stolen Device Protection feature as previously reported. Among the list of changes, Apple might be working on adding support to third-party AI chatbots to CarPlay along with the ability to watch videos on the car’s screen. Meanwhile, another development suggests that Apple Pay may finally arrive in India.
Apple CarPlay to get new features
As per the developer documentation reviewed by ONE Jailbreak, iPhone users will be able to cast videos to the car’s screen. The feature will work only when the car is not moving, obviously due to safety reasons. The car needs to have a built-in infotainment system and support for AirPlay. So, the feature may not be available for all with CarPlay-enabled vehicles.
Till now, users could access maps for navigation, play music, make or receive phone calls and messages, and control everything with voice commands. The source adds that automakers must be enrolled into Apple’s CarPlay program to support video playback.

Moreover, iOS 26.4 beta 1 also reveals support for ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini through the CarPlay system. Once connected, drivers will be able to ask questions to these voice-based conversational apps.
They will need to be opened manually instead of wake-up words. Previously, users could only give voice commands to Siri. The feature is not yet live in the current beta build although it appears in the developer guide.
Lastly, a code in iOS 26.4 beta 1, spotted by a developer, suggests that Apple Pay may be launching in India soon. There is a code string that reads “APPLE_PAY” and “en_IN”. Past reports have suggested that Apple is working with major Indian banks and seeking regulatory approvals.
iOS 26.4 stable version is expected to be released to the public in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma for more tech-related news.
