Last week, iQOO released the first teaser of the upcoming iQOO 15R. Today, it has officially confirmed that the 15R will debut on February 24 in India. While the brand has not released any technical details about this device, it is believed to be based on the iQOO Z11 Turbo, which was recently announced in China.
iQOO 15R: What to expect?
If the iQOO 15R is based on the Z11 Turbo, it may arrive with a 6.59-inch OLED screen delivering a 1.5K resolution, along with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and a massive 7,600mAh battery, which means it will be perfect for long gaming sessions.
For enhanced gaming, the 15R may feature a Q3 chip and support LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The phone is expected to offer 100W wired charging but may lack wireless charging.
Despite being a performance-focused offering, the iQOO 15R may also be impressive in the photography department, featuring an OIS-enabled 200MP (main) + 8MP (ultra-wide) dual-camera setup, along with a 32MP front-facing camera.
The 15R is expected to run on OriginOS 6-based Android 16. It is likely to offer other features, such as an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, an X-axis linear motor for in-game vibrations, and an IP68/69-rated body for dust and water resistance.
Expected to rival OnePlus 15R
iQOO previously positioned the iQOO 15 against the OnePlus 15, and it now appears that the upcoming iQOO 15R will compete with the OnePlus 15R, which also features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. The OnePlus 15R is priced at Rs 47,999 in India, and it is likely that iQOO’s offering may carry a similar price tag.
