Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 is already available globally, but it runs Windows. Nothing bad there. However, one of the better operating systems for handhelds is SteamOS, and Lenovo plans to introduce a SteamOS-powered version of the Go 2. Here’s all you need to know.
All about new Lenovo Legion Go 2
The Lenovo Legion Go 2 with SteamOS will resemble the Windows-powered model. However, it will have slightly different internals. The Windows-powered Legion Go 2 has AMD’s Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, but packs Radeon 780M graphics.
The upcoming SteamOS-powered Legion Go 2 will also feature the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, but it will be paired with a Radeon 890M GPU. The rest of the things will remain the same. It will have 32GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM and an 8.8-inch OLED display.
The OLED screen will feature a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. It will also support a 144Hz refresh rate for a smooth gaming experience. Some reports suggest that the new Legion Go 2 may not run SteamOS directly, but instead allow users to install it through recovery mode.

The handheld may also come with a single button to switch to Windows XBOX FSE, letting users enjoy games from their Game Pass subscription. While Lenovo hasn’t confirmed the launch date of this new Legion Go 2, it’s already listed on a retail website in China.
Unfortunately, it may not land in India anytime soon. However, you can check out the Asus ROG Ally and MSI Claw, which offer similar features but are powered by the Windows operating system.
