Moto G86 series and G56 announced, and they got a serious glow-up

The Motorola ‘G’ series is well-known for its durability and design, but this time, the company has taken things up a notch, or two. The newly launched Moto G86 Power 5G, Moto G86 5G, and Moto G56 5G are decked out with IP68/IP69 ruggedness and robust Gorilla Glass 7i protection – specs very rarely seen in this price segment.

Add to that, gorgeous Pantone hues, and these phones stand out in the cutthroat budget segment. These phones are prepped for everything; whether you’re taking them poolside or into the urban jungle. And at an affordable price, no less. Let’s dive into what makes the Moto G86 series and Moto G56 special.

Moto G86 5G, Moto G86 Power, Moto G56 5G: All you need to know

The Moto G86 series pairs a 6.67-inch FHD+ curved pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and blinding 4,500 nits brightness – 2.8 times brighter than its predecessor.

Meanwhile, the Moto G56 rocks a sharp 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD with up to 1,000 nits. What’s really special is the military-grade durability and IP68/IP69 ratings on all three phones, that lets you live your life without babysitting your phone.

Under the hood, the Moto G86 series runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, while the Moto G56 flexes with a Dimensity 7060, a turbo-charged update over its predecessor.

Whether you’re streaming, gaming, or doom-scrolling, these devices promise smooth sailing, especially with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage options. Oh, and they’re future-ready with Android 15 and four years of security updates baked in.

All three models come with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide (the G86 series’ ultrawide camera also doubles as a macro shooter). There’s also a 32MP selfie camera. Whether it’s late-night cityscapes or poolside brunches, Motorola claims that these cameras are built to make your socials pop.
