Nothing (3a) Community Edition vs Phone (3a): What’s different

Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition is here, and it’s nothing but fan service. It’s a special edition device for the community, and it boasts a distinctive design when compared to the standard Phone (3a). But is it just the aesthetics or more that’s different between the two? Let’s find out in this comparison.

Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition vs Phone (3a): Design and packaging

The Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition looks a lot more enticing, especially in what Nothing calls the throwback theme. The Community Edition has a dual-tone look, coloured in green.

This colour isn’t available otherwise, as you only get Black and White variants with the standard Phone (3a). Nothing has also added four more colour accents on the back of the Community Edition, contrasting the green theme.

Apart from this, both the standard (3a) and the Community Edition look identical.

In addition to the design, you get a special box packaging, an accessory box, and Community Edition stickers.

Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition vs Phone (3a): Display and camera

Apart from the design, packaging, and a bit of software tweaks, the rest is all the same as the standard Phone (3a). It features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits of peak brightness.

Both phones have the same triple-rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto unit, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. Upfront, there’s a 32MP selfie snapper on both phones.

Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition vs Phone (3a): Performance and battery

Nope, the performance as well stays the same with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 powering both models. However, you get 12GB RAM and 256GB storage as the lone configuration, which is a plus. The standard Phone (3a) also comes in an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.

The battery stays the same, i.e., a 5,000mAh cell with 50W fast charging. You get up to 50 per cent of the charge in just 19 minutes. Software-wise, it’s the same Android 15, but you get exclusive wallpapers and a throwback-themed clock.
