Nothing Phone 4 officially shelved for 2026, but Phone 4a to deliver flagship experience

Nothing has released a new video on its YouTube channel featuring company CEO Carl Pei discussing plans for this year. One of the major reveals in the video is that he confirms the company will not be launching a flagship phone this year. This means that there will be no Nothing Phone 4. Continue reading to know the other details confirmed by him.

Nothing Phone (4a)’s arrival officially confirmed

With no Nothing Phone 4 planned for this year, Pei says that the Phone (3) will remain the company’s top model this year. The company will shift its focus to the Phone (4a) series, which will deliver a closer-to-flagship experience.

The Phone (4a) series will boast a new design with better materials and improved cameras. It appears that the lineup may include multiple models, and the alleged Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro have already bagged multiple certifications, including in India, indicating that these phones may debut within the ongoing quarter.

Pei claimed that the increase in RAM prices due to the AI boom will result in price hikes for laptops and smartphones across the industry. Despite this, the brand will offer UFS 3.1 storage to its lineup. This suggests that the Nothing Phone (4a) series may feature UFS 3.1 storage, as the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro were launched with UFS 2.2 last year.

Audio will remain a key growth area following the success of the Headphone (1), with Nothing planning to double down on the category in 2026. On the software front, Nothing OS 4.0 will introduce “Essential Apps,” an AI-powered feature that can generate apps based on user descriptions. This feature will initially remain exclusive to the Phone (3).

First flagship store in India soon

Pei also said that Nothing crossed a significant financial milestone in 2025 by surpassing $1 billion in sales, officially entering unicorn territory with a valuation above $1 billion. The brand is scheduled to open a physical store in Bengaluru on February 14, and it also aims to open stores in Tokyo and the US.
