Since its inception, Nothing has traditionally stuck to a darker shade along with a white option for its smartphones. Now, the brand has revealed the Phone (4a) in a pastel colour. Additionally, Nothing has also confirmed camera information of the device. The upcoming offering is set to launch on March 5 as the successor to the last year’s Phone (3a).
Nothing Phone (4a) key detail revealed
The Nothing Phone (4a) is confirmed to come in a Pink colour option. Both the glass and the internal resin are said to be tinted giving a soft translucent look. In a YouTube video, Nothing credits a Pink Mac as a source of inspiration behind the colour on its upcoming smartphone.
The company also highlighted its new lighting system called the Glyph Bar. Those are six vertically stacked white LED lights on the right side of the rear panel besides the pill-shaped camera module. The bar also has a red light that will signal recording activity. Similar to previous Nothing phones, the Glyph Bar will be useful for notifications, progress indicators, camera shutter, and more. It will also tap into Android 16’s live updates.
Another important update Nothing shares in the YouTube video is that the Phone (4a) will feature a periscope camera. This was previously limited to the flagship models and last year’s Phone (3a) Pro. The company has used a tetraprism design for the periscope lens, helping reduce the size of the camera module and a more compact layout.
The sensor details are still under the wraps but if the device uses the same sensor as the Phone (3a) Pro, it could offer 6x lossless in-sensor zoom and 60x ultra zoom.
Leaks and rumours suggest that the Nothing Phone (4a) may come with a 120Hz AMOLED display. It is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The battery details of the smartphone have not been revealed yet.
