OnePlus’ budget bet to get stylus support

OnePlus’ budget tablet Pad Go 2 is launching soon, and it has seriously levelled up

OnePlus is doubling down on budget tablets, and its next contender is coming dressed to impress. The OnePlus Pad Go 2 is set to launch in India soon alongside the OnePlus 15R, and while its name suggests a familiar upgrade, the company appears to be packing in some meaningful additions. It will likely arrive with stylus support, 5G connectivity and a fresh Android 16 powered OS; features that previously lived only in OnePlus’ premium tablet line.

This is the first refresh to the Pad Go series in over two years, with the original model making its debut in late 2023. And this time around, OnePlus is positioning the Pad Go 2 right between the OnePlus Pad Lite and its flagship OnePlus Pad 3.

OnePlus Pad Go 2: Everything known so far

The Pad Go 2 will be available in two colours, Shadow Black and Lavender Drift. Only the top-end 8 GB + 256 GB Shadow Black model is getting 5G support, making it the first Pad Go variant to offer true on-the-go internet. The stylus support alone gives it an edge in the budget bracket, considering the original Pad Go skipped it entirely.

A teaser shows a single rear camera housed in a small circular bump; nothing too flashy, but functional enough for scans and quick photos. On the software front, the tablet is confirmed to run OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. That means a smoother interface, deeper customisations, fluid animations, and OnePlus’ first-party AI features.

OnePlus is also prominently slapping its OnePlus AI branding across teasers, which could signal more AI-backed capabilities coming to tablets.

OnePlus Pad Go 2: Launch date and expected price

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 is set to launch in India soon alongside the OnePlus 15R. Given its feature bump, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is expected to land in the Rs 20,000–Rs 22,000 range, roughly in line with its predecessor’s Rs 19,999 launch price.

That would strategically slot it between the Rs 15,000 Pad Lite and the Rs 30,000-plus Pad 2 range, capturing users who want premium features without the premium tag. Does this budget tablet from OnePlus interest you? Drop a comment with your thoughts.
