New foldable challenger for India

Samsung’s foldable dominance could be challenged as Oppo Find N6 may soon launch in India

Samsung has been leading the foldable phone market in India for quite some time. Apart from the Vivo X Fold series, there has been no major competitor for Samsung in this segment.

This may change next year when Apple is expected to introduce its foldable iPhone in September 2026. According to a new leak, Oppo is another brand planning to launch its first book-style foldable in India.

Oppo Find N6 India launch expected

In the past, Oppo has launched the Find N2 Flip and Find N3 Flip with vertically foldable design in India. In 2023, Oppo released the Find N3 globally, while India received the OnePlus Open as its rebranded version. However, Oppo has never launched a book-style foldable in the country.

As per a tipster on X (formerly Twitter), Oppo is now testing the upcoming Find N6 in India. While the India launch is not confirmed, internal testing is a strong sign that the foldable may arrive in the Indian market. If it does, Oppo will become the newest challenger to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which debuted a few months ago.

Oppo Find N6 specifications (rumoured)

Reports suggest that the Oppo Find N6 may debut as the world’s first foldable phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, promising top-tier performance. The device is said to be thinner and lighter than the previous generation, which measured 8.9mm when folded and weighed 229 grams.

On the outside, the Find N6 may feature a 6.6-inch cover display, while the internal display could measure 8.1 inches. Powering the device may be a battery rated above 6,000mAh.

The Find N6’s rear camera setup may include a 50MP Sony IMX808 primary camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. Other expected features include ColorOS 16-based Android 16, a customisable Snap key, a side-facing fingerprint sensor, wireless charging, and an IPX8/X9 water resistance rating.

As far as launch is concerned, it is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2026 in China. It may hit the Indian market within the first half of next year.
