Oppo’s Find series has always tried to deliver a refined and elegant flagship experience. And the new Find X9 is no different. The device boasts a sleek design that’s now Reno-inspired, and has cameras and performance that turn heads. Having tested it for over a month now, here’s our Oppo Find X9 review.
Oppo Find X9 review: Design
The Find X9 looks and feels like a flagship device the moment you pick it up. The build uses a solid aluminium frame with a matte glass back that gives the phone a clean and modern identity. The device looks quite elegant and classy in the Titanium Grey shade that we are using.
Despite the premium built, you don’t feel any heft. Unlike modern flagships, which feature a larger and wider footprint, the Find X9 feels compact and easily usable with one hand. The curves on all four corners make the device feel slimmer.
The camera module blends neatly into the design instead of sticking out aggressively. You get three body-coloured buttons, and as you’d guess, one of them is a power key, another one is an action button, and the third button is a volume rocker.
The phone also carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, so you can confidently use it in light rain or dusty environments.
Oppo Find X9 review: Display
The Find X9 boasts a display that you’d love to look at. It’s a 6.59-inch screen with narrow and symmetrical bezels. It’s an AMOLED panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate, meaning your reel scrolls will be buttery smooth.
Viewing content on this screen is bliss. You get rich and vibrant colours for watching Netflix shows. Brightness levels go high enough to stay clear under direct sunlight, making outdoor visibility one of its strong suits. The screen is crisp, and pair it with high pixel density, and you have a device that’s ready for good reads.s
Oppo Find X9 review: Cameras
Oppo has continued its partnership with Hasselblad, and it speaks for itself. While the camera setup is robust, the colour-tuning is what makes the pictures look pleasing. On the hardware side, you get a 50MP triple camera setup that handles wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto needs.
All three cameras are almost consistent in colour balance and overall tone, thanks to the Hasselblad’s soft colour tuning. The main camera captures clean and detailed images during the day. Colours feel pleasing and not overly boosted.
The ultra-wide camera maintains good sharpness across the frame. But it obviously isn’t as good as the main sensor. The telephoto lens gives you 3x optical zoom with good detail levels. We had a great time zooming in on our favourite artist at a concert. Video quality is pretty good, and the stabilisation is also on point. However, it still isn’t on par with the iPhones.
Oppo Find X9 review: Performance, software, battery
Since the Find X9 has flagship DNA, performance is a no-brainer. However, unlike the competition, there’s no Snapdragon in here. Rather, you get the Dimensity 9500 chipset, which is quite powerful and efficient.
The phone easily handles heavy workloads like editing videos, shooting high-resolution photos, or running graphics-intensive games. We had a great experience playing titles like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves. Thermal control is well balanced. Even during extended use, the phone doesn’t overheat, although it does get a bit warn, especially near the camera island.
Apps open quickly, multitasking feels effortless, and animations run smoothly throughout the interface. The latter is thanks to the new and refined ColorOS 16.
The user interface is cleaner than before. It feels polished and more modern with smooth transitions. Oppo has finally made ColorOS feel lighter, even with all the added features.
These added features include Smart Sidebar, which we now can’t live without, and improved file management. There are a bunch of cool AI features throughout the UI, and they simply enhance your user experience.
Despite being a compact flagship, it houses a large 7,025mAh silicon-carbon battery. For us, the device lasted a full working day, even with heavy usage. If your usage is moderate, which includes checking emails, WhatsApp chats, and scrolling reels, then you can achieve almost two days of usage.

When you do need to charge, the 80W wired fast charging technology fills the battery almost instantly. A short charge session in the morning is enough for an entire workday. The 50W wireless charging is available too.
