It looks like Samsung is jumping on to the magnetic charging bandwagon as well. A brand-new portable charger has been spotted in the Wireless Power Consortium database, and the listing pretty much gives away a major feature for the upcoming Galaxy S26. The device is explicitly named the “Samsung Magnetic Wireless Battery Pack.”
Magnets are in trend
The certification basically confirms the gadget supports Qi2, the universal standard for magnetic wireless charging. It works by using a ring of magnets to snap the charger perfectly onto the back of your phone so you don’t wake up to a dead battery because you bumped it in the night. The listing reveals a model number of EB-U2500 and a light-grey colour scheme.
The timing here is what matters. We are only a few months out from the Galaxy S26 launch. Currently, if you want that snappy magnetic action on a Galaxy S25, you are forced to buy a specific case with magnets glued inside. It’s clunky. Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 lineup has already embraced built-in magnets, leaving Samsung looking a bit behind the curve. This new accessory strongly suggests the S26 will finally bake the magnets directly into the phone’s chassis.
Speed might be a bit of a mixed bag, though. The database lists this pack at 15W. That is standard for Qi2, but other rumours point to the high-end S26 Ultra potentially supporting 25W wireless charging. We have even seen a separate leak for a 25W stationary wall charger (model EP-P2900). If the Ultra can truly pull 25W wirelessly, this portable battery might feel a little slow for the power users.

It fits Samsung’s usual pattern of segmenting its lineup, though. We are hearing that wired charging speeds will be capped at 25W for the base S26 and 45W for the Plus, with only the Ultra getting a boost to 60W. So, a 15W wireless pack makes sense for the standard models.
As for the Galaxy S26 series itself, it’s expected to arrive early next year. For context, the Galaxy S25 series officially launched at Galaxy Unpacked on January 22, 2025, with general availability and in-store release on February 7, 2025.
