Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S9 FE in October. The South Korean brand also refreshed the Tab S6 Lite (2024) earlier this year. Both devices are mid-range offerings from the company but have a few differences with price being the main factor. However, the S9 FE gets the upper hand as it belongs to Samsung’s Fan Edition devices and gets some premium features.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S6 Lite (2024) have LCD displays that are compatible with S-Pen. The former has a 10.9-inch screen with WQXGA resolution whereas the latter has a slightly smaller 10.4-inch panel bearing WUXGA resolution. The FE model also packs a 90Hz refresh rate for immersive viewing.

The Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S6 Lite (2024) have a flat frame design. Both have a camera sensor on the back panel. Notably, the former is also IP68-certified dust and water resistant.

Meanwhile, the S6 Lite (2024) houses a slightly less powerful Exynos 1280 chip with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. The Tab S9 FE is backed by an 8,000mAh battery unit whereas the S6 Lite (2024) runs on a 7,040mAh cell with 15W charging. The former supports 45W fast charging. 

The Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S6 Lite (2024) ship with OneUI 6.1 based on Android 14 out of the box. The former is 5G-compatible while the latter supports 4G connectivity.
