Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+ and Tab S9 Ultra premium OLED tablets launched

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2023 launch event saw the company announce many new devices, with the new foldable Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 being the highlights. We also witnessed the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series, the brand’s update to its flagship tablet series. The new S9 series features the Galaxy Tab S9, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

The new tablets are powered by more powerful Qualcomm chipsets and also the first in the series to sport an IP68 rating, making them the first water-resistant Android tablets in their class. All three tablets will also come in both cellular 5G and Wi-Fi only variants. Here’s everything you need to know about the new tablets.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 comes with a 11-inch AMOLED display. The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the same chipset that powers Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series as well as the new Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5. The device also sports a 13MP single rear camera, along with a single 12MP front camera. Along with 8GB RAM, the device comes with wither 128GB or 256GB storage. The device features an 8,000mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus

The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus comes with a slightly larger 12.4-inch AMOLED display. Under the hood is the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This is coupled with 12GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage. The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus comes with a 13MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera on the back, but a single 12MP front camera. The device sports a 10,090mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra comes with a 14.6-inch AMOLED display along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset at the helm. This is accompanied by 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage, although the tablet doesn’t support external memory. For the camera, the S9 Ultra gets a 13MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera on the back, along with a 12MP main and 12MP ultra-wide camera on the front.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra also comes with a large 11,200mAh battery and Android 13-based One UI 5 running out of the box. Supported accessories for the tablet, which will let you turn a Tab S9 Ultra into a true workstation include a kickstand case, a detachable keyboard with a built-in trackpad and an S-Pen stylus.
