After unveiling flagship slab phones last month, the focus has now shifted to Samsung’s next-generation foldables. They are expected to arrive in the second half of this year. Now, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has been spotted on a 3C certification website revealing its charging speed. Going by the details, the device is expected to come with major upgrades to the battery, something that the South Korean brand has kept unchanged since the original Galaxy Z Fold.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 could get a key upgrade
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is listed with model number SM-F9760 on 3C. It reveals support charging at 15V and 3A which translates to 45W charging. A previous leak suggested that the upcoming foldable phone will reportedly be equipped with two 2,369mAh batteries that could be marketed as 5,000mAh.
If this indeed turns out to be true, this will be the first time in nearly eight years that Samsung will bump up both the battery capacity and charging speed on its Galaxy Z Fold. Since the original model, the brand has stuck with a 4,400mAh cell and a 25W wired charging.

Last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 came with plenty of changes and Samsung may take things further with this year’s model.
The 3C listing also reveals the alleged Galaxy Wide Fold with model number SM-F9710. This one too will have 45W wired charging. It is rumoured to be backed with a 5,000mAh battery cell, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and feature a 4:3 screen.
The rest of the details about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 remain a mystery. We can expect more information to crop up in the coming months.
