Bethesda’s has announced that it is bringing its blockbuster RPG Starfield to the PlayStation platform. The sci-fi game was released on the Xbox and PCs nearly three years ago. The game developer also confirmed that it is releasing its largest update since launch which includes new features and systems for a deeper experience.
Starfield arrives on PS5
Starfield will be releasing on PlayStation 5 on April 7. It will be available in standard and a premium edition. The former will cost Rs 3,499, whereas the latter will be priced at Rs 4,899.
The premium edition will come with base game and story expansion packs called ‘Terran Armada’ and ‘Shattered Space’. Players also get virtual currency, skin pack, digital artbook and soundtrack.

There will also be a free update called ‘Free Lanes’ for all players introducing expanded space travel between planets, dynamic encounters, and deeper customisation. It includes new ways to upgrade abilities and carry gear into New Game+ modes.
Starfield is said to take full advantage of Sony’s hardware. Players can experience DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and controller audio. The light bar reflects in-game status such as health and ship condition. The touchpad allows players to jump between first and third-person POV or instantly access maps and hand scanners.
For PS5 Pro owners, there are two modes—one that focuses on visuals with 4K resolution and 30fps and another prioritising smoother frame rates at 60fps.
Starfield is similar to sci-fi RPG games like Mass Effect and Fallout. With the game’s release on PlayStation, it is the most complete version yet. Stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma for more tech updates.
