Stranger Things 5 India release guide (and everything else to know)

Netflix releases the first volume of Stranger Things Season 5 in India on November 27 at 6:30 am IST. This is the final season and it wraps up a decade of buildup with a whole stack of movie-length episodes. And for better or worse, these episodes have been split into three parts to make the whole thing last even longer.

The show drops in three separate batches rather than all at once. Indian viewers get the first batch the morning after the US premiere. Here is the full breakdown for your calendar.

Stranger Things season 5 cast

You can expect the full core crew to return for the final fight. The list includes Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven and Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler. Gaten Matarazzo returns as Dustin Henderson alongside Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair and Noah Schnapp as Will Byers. Sadie Sink is back as Max Mayfield.

Of course, the older teens and adults are also present. Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke reprise their roles. Winona Ryder and David Harbour return as the parents Joyce and Hopper. Cara Buono and Priah Ferguson are also confirmed.

New faces are joining the chaos too. Linda Hamilton of Terminator fame is the biggest addition. Nell Fisher steps in as a slightly older Holly Wheeler while Jake Connelly and Alex Breaux fill out the roster.

Episodes to watch before Stranger Things S5

The Duffer Brothers suggest a specific homework assignment to get ready. They specifically pointed out four chapters that set the stage for this conclusion. You should queue up episode 4 and episode 6 from Season 2. The creators also recommend watching episode 7 and episode 9 from Season 4.

Season 2 is apparently crucial because it planted the seeds we see blooming now. Ross Duffer even mentioned that watching the entirety of the first two seasons is the best way to understand the full circle nature of the ending.

What to know before watching (no spoilers here)

This is clearly the most high stakes plot so far. The main characters have a singular goal to hunt down and eliminate—you guessed it—Vecna. The government has placed Hawkins under strict military quarantine while Eleven has gone back into hiding.

Netflix and the creators made this season massive. Most episodes run well over 90 minutes. They described these instalments as mega movies where each volume has its own climax.

The second episode title seems to be a callback to the pilot where Will first vanished. Episode 6 references Mayan mythology where Camazotz means a bat spirit. That sounds suspiciously like the creatures that killed Eddie.
