Tecno is officially set to launch its Pova Slim 5G smartphone in India on September 4, boldly claiming it will be the world’s slimmest 5G smartphone with a 3D curved display. This new device appears to be the commercial version of the Spark Slim concept shown off at MWC 2025 earlier this year. Let’s take a look at its specs and how slim it exactly is.
Style and function in an impossibly sleek package
The phone’s entire identity is built around its “Too Slim To Be True” design. While Tecno is keeping the official spec sheet under wraps, rumours suggest the phone could measure a mere 5.95mm thick. Note that this isn’t slimmer than the Galaxy S25 Edge, which measures 5.8mm. But the Pova Slim 5G is still the slimmest phone with a curved screen on the market.
Beyond its svelte measurements, the device introduces a unique “Dynamic Mood Light”. This integrated LED strip snakes around the horizontal dual-camera module on the rear, lighting up for calls and notifications. Tecno is framing this as a feature that gives the phone personality.

Leaks point towards a premium price tag of around Rs 80,000, placing it in direct competition with heavyweights from Samsung and Apple. The hardware is rumoured to match that ambition, with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display boasting a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, a 50MP main camera, and a 5,200mAh battery, which is impressive for that purported thickness.
As for extras, the phone will ship with the Eila AI assistant, complete with support for multiple Indian languages, an AI Writing Assistant, and a Circle to Search feature. It also includes a peculiar “no network communication” function that allows for calls via Bluetooth.
