Vivo has finally unveiled the Vivo S50 series, which includes the S50 and S50 Pro Mini. While these phones are currently limited to the Chinese market, it is speculated that the upcoming Vivo X300 FE for the Indian market could be a rebranded version of the S50 Pro Mini. Meanwhile, the forthcoming Vivo V70 is said to be based on the S50. Without further ado, let’s take a look at what the two S50 models offer.
Vivo S50, S50 Pro Mini: Specs and features
The Vivo S50 flaunts a 6.59-inch OLED display delivering a crisp 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the S50 Pro Mini is a compact offering equipped with a smaller 6.31-inch OLED display, offering the same resolution and refresh rate. Both phones feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and run on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.
The Vivo S50 and S50 Pro Mini are powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipsets, respectively. Both devices ship with LPDDR5x RAM (Ultra variant on the Pro Mini), UFS 4.1 storage, and a massive 6,500mAh battery with 90W wired charging support. The Pro Mini edition also offers 40W wireless charging.
Coming to the cameras, both phones feature a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a Sony IMX882 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. While the S50 uses a Sony LYT-700V sensor for the primary camera, the Pro Mini gets the IMX921 sensor. Both phones are equipped with a 50MP front camera with autofocus support.
The Vivo S50 series also focuses heavily on durability, featuring an aerospace-grade aluminium frame and IP68/69-rated dust and water resistance. Other shared features include dual stereo speakers, an x-axis linear motor, a 4,200mm² vapour chamber cooling system, and an IR blaster.
