In 2026, a slew of new foldable phones is expected to hit the Chinese market, and some of them are expected to make it to the Indian market. One such foldable that is very likely to hit Indian soil is the Vivo X Fold 6, a successor to this year’s Vivo X Fold 5. Well ahead of the launch, well-known tipster Smart Pikachu has shared the first details about the X Fold 6. Here’s a look at some of the upgrades that will arrive on the next-generation Vivo foldable.
Vivo X Fold 6 specifications (rumoured)
According to the leak, Vivo is expected to equip the X Fold 6 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This chip is positioned just below Qualcomm’s top-end Elite series and is set to debut with other upper-tier smartphones in the coming weeks.
Early benchmark results circulating online indicate a notable improvement in both single-core and multi-core performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in the current X Fold 5. If accurate, the next foldable could offer smoother multitasking and better thermal efficiency.
The camera system appears to be another major upgrade. According to the tipster, Vivo is preparing a 200MP sensor for the X Fold 6. It is not yet clear whether this module will serve as the primary camera or be assigned to the telephoto role, but the jump from the X Fold 5’s triple 50MP setup hints at a more photography-focused approach. Given Vivo’s long-running collaboration with Zeiss, the optics are also expected to carry Zeiss branding.
The source also notes that the foldable phone may ship with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button. Other components like the battery capacity, display dimensions and charging features have not surfaced yet.
Vivo X Fold 6 launch timeframe (rumoured)
The tipster indicates that Vivo is targeting a Q2 2026 unveiling. This aligns with the company’s usual release pattern, as the X Fold 5 was announced in June and reached the market shortly after.
The Vivo X Fold 5 arrived in June this year in India. So, it is likely that the X Fold 6 may hit the Indian market in the same month next year.
