WhatsApp is adding a dedicated Meta AI tab within its messaging platform. Previously in development for Android, the feature is now in beta phase for select iPhone users. Users can interact with AI-powered tools without cluttering their main chat screen. Alongside, the popular instant messaging platform is also introducing a slew of new features for iOS users.
WhatsApp brings smarter AI chat management
WhatsApp’s Meta AI tab brings multiple AI functionalities under one hub. Just can ask questions, generate content, and even initiate real-time conversation with the assistant directly from this section. There’s also voice settings and memory options at the top left corner of this section with the latter allowing users to keep track of previous chats.
Users can view, update, or delete specific memories to keep their AI interactions relevant and organised. Our sections are organised into individual threads, similar to how sections are structured on ChatGPT. Its thread is automatically named, making it easier for users to identify the topics.
As per the image shared by WABetaInfo, the dedicated Meta AI tab is integrated into the bottom navigation bar. It replaces the previous Communities tab. Communities can now be accessed from their chats tab.

The dedicated Meta AI type is rolling out to select beta testers on iPhones. A broader rollout is expected in the coming weeks.
In other news, WhatsApp is bringing support for two accounts on an iPhone. This feature was previously available on Android and eliminates the need to carry two separate devices. You can check which account you are logged in from your profile picture visible in the bottom bar.
The Meta-owned platform is also making it easier to transfer chats from iOS to Android. There is also AI writing help that can draft responses based on the context of the conversation while keeping your charts private.
