Xiaomi 17T Pro tipped to be in works for India, launch timeframe emerges

The Xiaomi 17 series for the Chinese market currently includes four models: the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Ultra. It appears that the brand is not done with the lineup yet, as it is rumoured to be working on another 17-series smartphone for China.

In a new leak, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed key details about this upcoming device, including its possible launch timeframe. At the same time, speculation suggests that the Indian market could receive a new model called the Xiaomi 17T Pro.

Xiaomi 17T Pro in the works for India

In a new post on X, tipster Abhishek Yadav revealed that India may receive the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra in March 2026. He also mentioned that the company could unveil the Xiaomi 17T Pro in April. While he did not disclose the specifications of this device, it is expected to be a more affordable option compared to the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra.

For context, Xiaomi’s last T-series phone for India was the Xiaomi 11T Pro, which debuted in January 2022. The upcoming T-series device could be priced between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000, positioning it to rival other flagship phones in this segment.

New Xiaomi 17 series phone in development

According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is also working on a new 17-series phone featuring a 6.8-inch or 6.9-inch flat display. The device is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and is described as a minor iteration of an existing model.

Among the current lineup, only the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and Xiaomi 17 Ultra feature a 6.9-inch display. This suggests that the upcoming device could be an incremental upgrade of either of these models.

The leak further claims that the phone will include a periscope telephoto camera. However, there is no clarity on whether it will feature a rear secondary display like the 17 Pro Max. The 17 Ultra lacks this feature due to its large circular camera module. It remains to be seen whether this upcoming device will be rebranded as the Xiaomi 17T Pro for the Indian market.
