Xiaomi’s Miclaw is an AI agent for your phone that aims to automate everything

Released in limited closed beta

Xiaomi’s Miclaw is an AI agent for your phone that aims to automate everything

Xiaomi has announced its proprietary AI agent called Xiaomi miclaw for smartphones. It is currently in limited closed beta phase. The project is similar to OpenClaw, an open-source AI assistant that performs actions instead of just chatting on devices.

Xiaomi’s miclaw is said to be designed to transform smartphones into autonomous digital assistants capable of executing tasks across apps and system features.

Xiaomi Miclaw is more than a voice assistant

Xiaomi miclaw is built on the company’s MiMo large language model. It enables the system to interpret user intentions and perform actions on a smartphone. The AI agent can interact with apps, system tools, and more once users grant the required permissions. It also integrates with Xiaomi’s broader ecosystem including connected home devices and vehicles.

Xiaomi says that Miclaw works by inference-execution loop. It first analyses the request and then selects certain tools and parameters to execute the task. There’s also memory system allowing the AI to retain context across more than 20 consecutive steps.

Per Xiaomi, the project is currently in the experimental stage. The brand warns that it may fail in certain tasks. Participation to Miclaw closed beta is by invitation only.

The AI agent is compatible with the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition smartphones.
