Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 refines the clamshell foldable experience with a larger cover screen

Xiaomi has announced its much-anticipated clamshell foldable phone in China. Dubbed the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, the clamshell foldable phone brings a bunch of upgrades, giving users a more refined experience. It has a larger cover screen, the latest Snapdragon flagship chipset, and a big battery. Here’s everything you need to know.

Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 key features

The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 comes with a sleek design, having a 7.57mm thickness when unfolded. It weighs just 199 grams and boasts an improved design. It comes with a large 6.86-inch foldable AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution. The panel has a smooth 120Hz refresh rate support and 300Hz touch sampling rate, which means all the flicks in the game will not only be smooth, but also responsive.

There’s another screen on the front, a large 4.01-inch display that wraps around the cameras. It is also an AMOLED screen with a sharp 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support.

Performance-wise, the foldable gets the latest and most powerful mobile chipset from Qualcomm. We are talking about the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, which is an octa-core chipset with Adreno GPU. It is paired with fast 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage for faster file transfers.

The Mix Flip 2 also gets a camera upgrade with a Leica Summilux lens. This is a 50MP sensor with OIS support for smooth footage. It is assisted by a 50MP ultra-wide sensor for group shots. Interestingly, it also doubles up as a macro camera.

Despite being a clamshell foldable with a sleek body, it packs a 5,165mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. It boots on Android 15-based HyperOS 2.

Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 price and availability

The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 starts at CNY 5,999 (about Rs 71,600) for the base 12GB + 256GB variant and goes all the way up to CNY 7,299 (about Rs 87,100) for the 16GB + 1TB variant.

Currently, it’s available for purchase in China; however, its India release timeline remains unknown.
