MWC 2026: Xiaomi Vision GT concept showcased with futuristic design and track-focussed aerodynamics

At a global launch event yesterday, Xiaomi unveiled a host of products from smartphones to wearable devices and even a scooter. The Chinese brand also showed off its two-door concept hypercar called the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo. This is a digital-only concept, meaning it’s created for the racing simulation ecosystem rather than public roads.

It also makes Xiaomi the first pure technology brand to join the iconic Gran Turismo game’s concept car program that consists of legacy automakers like Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Ferrari, and BMW.

Xiaomi’s design team that worked on the Vision GT says that they focussed on ‘sculpted by the wind’ philosophy. The car features a low-slung aerodynamic body that offers benefits like reducing drag, improving stability, and enhanced handling.

The car has T-shaped headlights, scissor doors, open wheelhouse, shark-fin roofline structure, and C-shaped taillights. There are also multiple air intakes, a huge carbon-fiber rear wing, and centre-lock wheels.

Xiaomi also shared some technical numbers stating that the Vision GT produces a downforce of -1.2 and an aerodynamic efficiency rating of 4.1.

Coming to the interior, the Xiaomi Vision GT features a butterfly-shaped steering wheel, a panoramic display, and a cocoon-shaped sofa for the driver’s seat. All these interior elements flow together giving a lounge-like look instead of a cockpit. The gear shift lever is styled like an aircraft throttle.

Xiaomi hasn’t dived in to the technical specifications of the Vision GT. The concept car is expected to deliver 1,900 horsepower. It’s likely that the concept could be virtual-only for now. But it shows Xiaomi’s growing ambitions in the automotive industry. The brand has confirmed that it plans to launch in the overseas markets in 2027.

Xiaomi already sells the SU7 and SU7 Ultra electric cars in China.
