Apple’s Gemini-powered Siri could land next month

If a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is to be believed, the long wait for Apple’s new Siri may finally be over. According to the report, Apple is planning to show off a freshly revamped Siri sometime in the second half of February.

Fruits of the Gemini partnership are almost ready

Gurman claims that Apple wants to demo these new capabilities fairly soon. And this isn’t just some small tweak, either. It’s reportedly going to be that specific update where Siri finally starts doing those things that Apple promised way back in June 2024. You know, actually understanding what is on your screen right now and properly digging into your personal data to help you get stuff done.

Think about that specific demo where Siri checked a user’s email for flight info just to answer a question. That is exactly the kind of thing we are supposedly finally getting here. If you currently have an iPhone 15 Pro or maybe something newer, you should reportedly see this arrive with iOS 26.4. That is slated to hit beta testing in February before eventually rolling out to everyone in March or maybe early April.

So, why exactly make that sudden shift to Google’s Gemini models? Well, those earlier reports hinted that Apple was really struggling to figure out exactly what its own AI strategy was supposed to be internally.

That being said, this February reveal is apparently just the appetiser. Gurman says there is an even bigger upgrade planned for June at the Worldwide Developers Conference. This upgrade, which currently carries the internal codename Campos, is expected to make Siri much more conversational.

The summer update will likely land with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. But for now, we just have to wait a few more weeks to see if this is actually going to be worth it.
