A modern BlackBerry?

Clicks announces its first-ever phone, and it’s a BlackBerry lookalike

If you were a fan of BlackBerry phones, and wished to own one in 2026, there’s good news for you. Well, not exactly the kind you want. Clicks, a smartphone accessory maker, which is popular for its physical keyboards for phones, has now announced its first-ever phone. And interestingly, it’s a BlackBerry lookalike.

Called the Clicks Communicator, the smartphone offers a physical keyboard, runs Android-powered Niagara Launcher, and allows you to access all the smart apps that you’d access on your regular smartphone. Sounds cool? Here’s all you need to know.

More than a BlackBerry lookalike

The new Clicks Communicator is advertised to be a purpose-built phone for those who carry two phones. That’s one for work and one for personal use. With the phone’s physical keyboard, the device is said to boost your productivity.

Plus, it comes with a highlighting feature called Signal Light. This is an LED light around the power button that glows when you receive messages from VIPs or specific apps. You can also customise it to set different coloured lights for different people or apps.

The aforesaid button can also be customised to integrate AI apps and other features, like voice recording and more. It’s kind of like the Action button on iPhones.

The smartphone runs Android out of the box and has Niagara launcher on top. It allows you to access Gmail, WhatsApp, and all other apps easily in a list format.

Since it’s a phone with a physical keypad, it has a small, yet wide touch screen. It also has a 24MP camera at the top for selfies. On the rear, there’s a 50MP single camera. Clicks has also offered a mute button on the left, and it supports interchangeable back covers in different colours.

That’s not it. The smartphone also supports USB-C and wireless charging, a 4,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, and 256GB of internal storage.

Clicks Communicator will be showcased at CES 2026, and will go up for sale at $399 (about Rs 36,000) for early bird customers who place a $199 (about Rs 18,000) deposit by February. Those who pay the full early-bird price will receive two additional back covers for free.
