Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 announced with ‘first-of-its-kind’ creative colour effects

Fujifilm’s lineup of instant point-and-shoot cameras has been popular across all age groups for its ease of use and bright colours. Now, the brand has introduced a new addition to this collection — the Fujifilm Instax Mini 99.

The flagship variant comes equipped with a variety of options for creative control and improved colour effects. Here’s everything you need to know about the new entrant, including its price, features and specifications.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 key features to look out for

Fujifilm Instax cameras are widely known for their auto functions – like focus, flash or modes. However, the Instax Mini 99 is designed to give users a little more control over their final output. For one, the new instant camera abandons the bright colours and has opted for a retro, black facade and a matte finish.

The camera comes with a first-of-its-kind colour effect dial which gives users the option to choose between six hues — Faded Green, Warm Tone, Light Blue, Soft Magenta, Sepia, and Light Leak. The brand states that the new instant cameras sport an LED light to give users photo prints the tint of their choice.

Additionally, the camera will also feature a button to give photos a Manual Vignette Switch. The switch can be found on the lens housing and toggling it off or on can lend a user an artistic shaded border on their final print.

Unlike predecessors, twisting the lens barrel on the Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 will also allow you to switch between three focal lengths (3m and above, 3m-0.6m, and 0.6-0.3m).

Apart from this, it sports a shutter button on top of the camera, which can be used to swap between portrait and landscape modes. Lastly, it also comes equipped with an LED screen at the back to show you the remaining number of shots.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 pricing and availability

The Instax Mini 99 will go on sale in April, but there’s currently no word on an India launch. Globally, it is priced at $200 (roughly Rs 11,000).
