Lyria 3 Pro brings 3-minute music generation to Gemini

Google has announced its latest AI-powered music generation model, Lyria 3 Pro, building on the capabilities of its earlier release. The update focuses on expanding creative possibilities while also bringing the technology to more products across its ecosystem. This move highlights Google’s growing push into AI-driven creative tools.

Lyria 3 Pro brings longer and structured music creation

With Lyria 3 Pro, users can now generate music tracks that extend up to three minutes, a significant jump from the shorter clips offered previously. The model has been designed to better understand musical structure, allowing users to guide outputs with prompts that include elements such as intros, verses, choruses and bridges.

This makes it easier to experiment with different styles and create tracks with smoother transitions. Another key aspect is improved creative control. Users can fine-tune outputs based on mood, arrangement, and progression, which makes the tool suitable for everything from casual content creation to more detailed production work.

To ensure transparency, all AI-generated tracks are embedded with SynthID, a watermark that identifies them as machine-generated content.

Availability across Google ecosystem

Google is expanding access to Lyria 3 Pro across several platforms. It is currently available in the Gemini app for paid subscribers, where users can create longer music tracks directly within the app. The model is also integrated into Vertex AI in public preview, enabling businesses to generate audio content at scale for applications such as gaming and media.

Developers can access it through Google AI Studio and the Gemini API, while Google Vids allows users to pair AI-generated music with video projects. Additionally, ProducerAI offers a collaborative environment where artists and creators can refine and build complete compositions with AI assistance.

Google states that the model does not replicate specific artists, instead drawing general inspiration when prompted. This reflects an effort to balance creative flexibility with responsible AI practices.
