Your Pixel 9 can now share files with any iPhone! Yes, the QuickShare to AirDrop file sharing feature has come to the Pixel 9 months after being rolled out to the Pixel 10 series in November.
This allows you to share photos, videos, and documents seamlessly with iPhones, without the hassle of going through third-party apps. Here’s all you need to know.
All about Pixel 9’s Quick Share to AirDrop file sharing
Google has confirmed that it’s rolling out an update that lets the Pixel 9 series of phones, including the Pixel 9, Pixel 9a, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The update adds QuickShare to AirDrop support for seamless file sharing.
It’s worth noting that while the update has been rolled out, you may not receive it immediately. Having said that, keep checking for any available updates in Settings. Once you see an update, install it, and the Quick Share to AirDrop file sharing feature should be supported on your Pixel 9.
Here's how to use the feature
You can follow the steps below to share files from your Pixel 9 with iPhones.

Step 1: Make sure Quick Share is turned on your Pixel 9 and AirDrop is turned on your iPhone.
Step 2: Now, simply go to any media file or document and hit share on your Pixel 9.
Step 3: You should see the iPhone being popped out on the share screen. Just tap on it and accept the request on the iPhone. And just like that, files from your iPhone should be on the iPhone.
Google is expected to roll out this ability to more smartphones soon, including non-Pixel phones. We should learn more about that at the upcoming Google I/O 2026.
