Here’s how to use Instagram Collections and manage all your saved posts

We have all been there. You are scrolling through Instagram, you spot the perfect post or image and then lose it in the endless feed. That is where Instagram Collections comes in.

Although Instagram Collections isn’t a relatively new feature, it’s a handy tool for saving and organising posts you want to revisit later. Instead of endlessly scrolling to find something again, you can save and sort posts into customised folders and access them anytime. But how do you actually use Instagram Collections, and where do your saved posts go? If you want to make the most of this feature, here’s how to create, manage and view your Instagram Collections.

How to create an Instagram Collection

Instead of endlessly scrolling and hoping to stumble upon that perfect recipe post, travel destination, or outfit idea again, you can save and organise posts with Instagram Collections.

This feature lets you store all your favourite posts in one place and sort them into custom folders, so you never have to search for them later. Here is how to use Instagram Collections to keep everything neatly stored and easy to access:

1. Tap the save button

When you find a post worth keeping, tap the Save (bookmark) icon below the photo or video. This automatically adds it to your All Posts collection, which stores everything you save by default.

2. Sort posts into custom collections

After tapping Save, you can keep things structured by adding the post to a specific collection. Tap the + (plus sign) and either select an existing collection or create a new one.

3. Create a new collection

If you have never made a collection before, Instagram will prompt you to name it before saving the post. You can create as many collections as you need to keep your saved posts structured.

Everything you save on Instagram stays private, so no one else can see your saved posts or how you organise your collections.

How to view your saved Instagram posts

Your saved posts are always accessible as long as you are connected to the internet. Here is how to view your saved Instagram post:

Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your tablet or smartphone.

Step 2: Tap your profile icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.

Step 3: Tap the Menu (three horizontal lines) in the upper-right corner.

Step 4: Select Saved to view all your Instagram collections. Your All Posts collection holds every saved post, while custom collections are listed separately.

Step 5: So, the next time you see a post worth remembering, just tap Save, and your future self will thank you.
